Reply to "Allentown's SPRING THAW Roll Call"

Was there today and as usual, the show did not disappoint. The Spring Thaw is truly one of the great train shows. Found some items that I was looking for at extremely low prices. I have always found great bargains at this show and my wife loves the massive Farmers Market across the way, (but also on the fairgrounds). This makes it easy to do your train shopping and have a place where you can find food, drink, produce , bakery items, meats, Amish Foods and ethic foods all in one spot. The coffee shop there serves some of the best coffee that I have had and each espresso cup is hand brewed.  A most enjoyable day and you can take your wife along.

To answer Edddie G's question as to what we see there that we don't see at York. IMO, the prices are much better and we can get to Allentown within an hours drive of my home. Therefore the transportation cost is low and there is no hotel lodging cost. Going to York costs us about $500. Going to Allentown; 6 gallons of gas, a lunch, a $1 toll (round trip)  and an $8 admission ticket. Its cost effective and I find almost everything that I want there.
