hey, Guys: Am I the only one who picked up on this? In the new catalog Lionel announced the reissue of the NYC "S" class locomotive, but on page 26 and 27 they are actually offering a "set" with three freight cars, but what's cute is that the engine and cars are all painted up in bright colors like pre-war, stamped metal, tinplate cars! They are even sporting brass number and name plates.
I find this really humorous because MTH has been making their replica, pre-war trains and some of them have "modern" or scale type paint jobs on them. So, am I the only one who sees this juxtaposition, here? This HAS to be a Mike Reagan idea! This whole idea really smacks of Mike's sense of humor. I think that it's just one little, last gift that he left with Lionel upon his leaving.
