I believe it's been said that you can load a PS/2 sound file into the PS/3, the PS/3 doesn't alter it's behavior based on the sound files like the PS/2. Perhaps that only applies to the 3V sound files, I'm not sure.

Only 3 volt PS2 sound files may be loaded into PS3 engines.
