I love that 3100 Great Northern!  It was the first engine that I actually bought and the second one that I owned, behind the 2037 engine that I got when I was 5 years old.  

I am attaching the five pages in Service Supplements that CW had a link to in his post. The first supplement is over 500 pages long, there is an index in the front section that you can refer to to find info for other equipment.    

 

There is also this book which is rather expensive, I don't have it, but i think the service supplements contain the same basic info.

Hi Dave,

Thanks very much for including the pdf on the 3100! Just as I suspected many of the parts (motor, E-Unit among others) have a base number of "8002" so getting replacement parts someday may not be a simple matter of using 736 PW parts...that's the info I was hoping to find and file for future reference and to pass on with the trains.
