Hello

I have bought this  set  a while back and finally got some time to check it out.

Never ran or ran very little and the cars are like brand new , the box is in good shape and the all the paperwork is in the set.

I did test the engine to see if it run, just a few feet each way just to see if it still ran.

Now I want to do a full service so I can run it some and then put it up for later.

The cars I can do as there not much to do to them,

The loco is another story.Cleaned up all the  dust and old grease off what I could see.

Now I would like to replace all the old grease with new.

Can not seem to find much about the MPC loco's from that time ,

Do they still service like the old Pull-more's ?

Any thing I should be on the look out for ?

Any way to replace those plastic gears with metal ?

Thanks JW

Instruction sheet was one page with not much info as I recall. I saw how many other people were buying the sets and sold mine. Most just sat in a basements waiting for the increase in value that never came. Don't know anyone who ran them. I wouldn't worry about the gears if you'r only going to run it once in a while. I had many MPC diesels at one time and ran the heck out of them with no problems. Don
