Hi Folks,

I wanted to post a quick update on all that is going on with Sunset / 3rd Rail and GGD in February. As you may already know we have a great team making our models now, and projects are coming relatively on schedule and in budget with great Quality Control at the factory.

We are now shipping all orders of our Santa Fe "El Capitan" Sets and cars.  We have about 5 Sets left in 2 Rail and 3 Rail if you are interested. You can buy them now at:

http://www.goldengatedepot.com/reacar-buy.html

Hot on the heals of the El Cap cars are the 12-1 and 8-1-2 ABS sleepers in a variety of Liveries. There are surprisingly several of each road name available still to order. You can pre-buy these at the same web page as above. Pictures of each road name are there to review as well. Come and gettem. These won't last. Arriving in March.

In the Diesel arena, we are in full production now of the E8 and E9s in 29 different liveries, YIKES!!! This is going to take a few months to finish. I will be going over there the end of March to help with the QC and make sure we are getting the very best quality for your hard earned money. Look for these to arrive in Late April or even May. Orders are full but we can accept stand by orders in case some customers cancel.

We are planning a quick rerun of some roads for the F7s. Why? Because we had orders for the GN F7s to go with the Empire Builder Train, which will be coming late this year. And SF F7s pulled the El Capitan. We already got the critical orders needed and will close the F7 Rerun reservations soon. These are available in: SF War Bonnet, GN Empire Builder, SF Freight (Blue and Yellow), C&O, Demo, Rio Grande, SP Black Widow and Western Pacific (Orange and Silver). Come see for yourself:

These F7s will be produced along with the long awaited CB&Q O1a Mikados. These Mikados will be in VERY short supply. We are only making 100 of them. That's it. 50 in 2R and 50 in 3R. Terrible numbers, but great for the collector. We have 80 reservations so there are just a few slots left. Come see what it's all about at:

Look for the CB&Q Mikados to be coming this Summer.

After the Mikados we will produce the Alco PA/PBs. We thank you for your orders. We will be closing reservations this summer, so think of what you want and let us know.

After the PA/PB project we will likely start the GN Empire Builder Cars and Great Dome Cars. The design is done and they are nothing but OUTSTANDING models. You guys ask for the best detail, the most accurate models in the world, and we are making them now. But you need to reserve one to assured of getting a set or cars. We have added the Norfolk Southern Scheme to the "Great Dome" Car Line up. Show your interest so we can make it.

By the fall of 2017 we should be getting the Sunset Limited Cars.  Reservations are nearly full, so again, if you desire a set, it's time to put your name on one.

Here is what Wikipedia says about what pulled these cars:

After dieselization Alco PA A-A Unit diesel locomotives powered the train between New Orleans and El Paso, and EMD E7 and E9 diesel locomotives in A-B-B sets pulled the train between El Paso and Los Angeles. Between 1950 and 1958 the diesel locomotives were painted in the Southern Pacific's "Daylight" scheme; in the 1960s and 70s EMD F7 diesel locomotives in SP's "Bloody Nose" scheme powered the train on the entire run. (Wikipedia)

We have many items still in stock for your buying pleasure and many future projects to begin and produce.

The SP S-12 0-6-0 Switchers just arrived. People always ask us, "Why don't you make smaller engines?"  Well here it is, they don't get much smaller than this. Beautifully detailed and engineered to run and run and run.

We have Steam, RDC Cars, Electric Locomotives, HW Coaches, Sleepers and Aluminum Sets all ready for your layout or display.

We thank you all for making all of this possible. Without your reservations we can't start these productions

THANK YOU,

Scott Mann
