Weekend Photo Fun 2-17-17-??

Yard switching module, (Fort Pitt High Railers). There will be (3) additional (6ft) straight track modules, that add to this switching module.  A good bit of the material pictured, including the older Ross 4 way, Ross Double Slip switches, and Gargraves track  are recycled.

Well not a train or toy train.  But useful in our hobby and our other hobbies.

B&O Railroad Museum. I managed to squeeze in a quick visit during a business trip. The people here are super friendly and able to share a lot of great information about this amazing collection and beautiful round house building. I had to be careful though because I arrived on pirate day...very dangerous 2-6 year olds roaming around!!! .

Last time I saw the Yellow Belly and the Allegheny they were outside!

A 2016 Christmas Layout memory 

More of what I used to represent Spring.  Dusk sets in.

My grandson and I decided to run all of the 6464 cars that we have this week, only 7, but couldn't decide which engine looked the best pulling them.

His choice was the Williams 746 J that I installed a Lionel fan driven smoke unit in......

And I chose the Lionel 736 Berkshire.....

But I think he made his decision based on how much it smokes now.....

What do you think?

A shot of the National Mall on the National Capital Trackers layout, Timonium, MD on Feb. 5, 2017. Double-headed 2-8-4s pull 35 cars past the monuments.

Just a little background scenery work from last weekend.

Here is my post war collection on a wall of Glenn Snyder shelving in my office. As you can see the 027 passenger cars are my favorites along with certain steam engines, etc.

After moving from PA to CA I really needed to downsize my post war collection. Many freight cars went to my two grandsons and they are run regularly on their layouts now.

Found some old pics in an envelope......probably from 92-94.....my birthday June 92.....opening my RailScope TV.

Next.....probably the earliest pics of my attic 93-03 layout, using KLine and Kenner buildings....Scale O Gauge buildings from Buildings Unlimited and Walthers changed things. I really was a fan of Kenner Bridge & TurnPike and Girder & Panel building sets as a kid!

The Kenner Grider & Panel sets are why I enjoy building structures kits and scratchbuilding today.  That was a toy that was fun and taught you something.  I have two vintage sets today. 

This is my newest addition.   2006 Pennsylvania Flyer set.   Had never been opened.   Complete set and came with a CW-80 !!   Just ran it a few minutes.    Runs great!

I still have my Kenner bridge & turnpike and girder & panel set from 55 or so years ago. Was amazed by making a cloverleaf; the real ones were just becoming popular around Cleveland then. Of course it was on the train layout.

Yes I left the caboose at home. I took the videos the day before Train Lovers Day. I had it the next day.I put the videos up for the sounds.

New Lionel 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and Dolittle Raid boxcars.

I found a set of switches on the bottom of the cab car in this set. I played with them and noticed some more cool lighting effects!

K-line had some cool stuff.

The yellow truck and several others are from Menards.   VBG   I have the Pepsi one, ones that have white box body,  and rack truck with tires.   Oh yeah Tractor Trailer that has Menards on its side and 3 box trucks that say Menards.       They look pretty good on layout.   The white box trucks I want to decal with other names if I can find my micro Scale 1/48 truck decal sets.   

Cotton Belt 815 crosses the new cable bridge I just finished!
