I have never been to York.. hope too someday.

This email hit my in box this morning

"For the first time ever, one of the largest train shows in the U.S. is now open to the public! Take advantage of this new policy to visit the TCA Eastern Division Train Show in York, PA, that was previously limited to Train Collectors Association members. The public will be permitted to visit the dealer halls and exhibit hall on Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th. Besides announcing new Williams by Bachmann O Gauge products, Bachmann will be announcing and exhibiting samples of new HO and On30 products not shown in the 2017 catalog. Visit http://easterntca.com for complete details. We hope to see you there!"

At Costco, Sam's Club etc., while you have to be a member, anyone can be a member just pay the fee. So it really has always been open to the public, all you had to do was pay the huge membership fee and that other initial fee at the door as the entrance cost. Now it is just lots cheaper to get in if you only want to visit the dealers for huge bargains.

It isn't like getting into a super secret Joint Chiefs of Staff meeting!

Props to Bachman for promoting York--LIONEL, MTH, OGR, Trainworld et al.  ought to do the same with their email-based lists of customers given the major changes in "visitor" attendance this year provided by ED TCA.

MTH, Trainworld, and Lionel have been promoting the York meet on their social media pages. They are reaching the general public more than folks who have signed up for their email list. Most people on their list already know about York.

How do you know?

Regardless, whether it's information posted on their social media page(s) or a letter sent out in an email blast, I think it's great that these companies are lending a hand to help the Eastern Division promote the show.

If you are on a train manufacturers email list there is a way better chance you know about York. I'm not putting down the effort but the poster I was replying to was implying the others are doing nothing.  I agree any info being put out is a plus.
