Good morning everyone. I'm new to O Gauge and DCS. I just purchased a TIU, Wifi Module, and a AIU for my very small 3'x6' layout. Why so small? I live in a townhouse (for now).

I also just purchased Barry's book which is AMAZING. I love how detailed it is. So my question is, since my layout is so small, do I really need to use external power of my switches? Will it really be that detrimental or can I get away with it? Along with that, I'm using a Z-1000 power pack for the layout which has an accessory port built into it. If I HAVE to use external power, can I just use that port for the power connected to a terminal block?

Thanks in advance. The O Gauge community seems to be a great bunch of people!

I have to agree!

Yes, you should.

You might and you might not. Why take a chance?

Yes, the accessory port on the Z1000 is fine.

Barry! Yes your book is great. Thank you for writing it! OK. Now that I have the way to go, it opens up a whole bunch of new questions. Is there a way I can contact your directly with them. I think they are questions with simple answers....I think!

Thanks,

Jon
