I am in need of a front coupler for a American Flyer 21158 Switcher.  It seems to be a simple screw on coupler (see photo), I don't have many AF parts and am not real familiar with them so I would like to buy this from someone or somewhere.

Thanks for any help,

Bum

Gandy, thank you.  As I noted in my original post I am not real familiar with AF.  Most of the photos that I saw of this have the coupler but in researching further this morning I see that a lot of the sites show it with no coupler.  Why would they have drilled the hole for it but not put one on?

Thanks,

Bum

Gilbert was the king of standardization in manufacturing. Why make several versions of the frame just to make small changes. They made one frame to fit all versions of this loco and just left off the parts on the lesser models.

BTW you'll need

1X 12A355A Leaf Spring

1X XA12A047Knuckle Coupler with Hole only.

1X PA13A791 Rivet or PA9288 Shouldered screw

You can rivet the coupler on by using the PA13A791 above or tap the hole and use the PA9288 shouldered screw.
