Since I use DCS PASSIVE mode exclusively I do not need a TIU with 4 input channels and the extra circuits to control output voltage.  Any chance a revised new TIU/WIFI combined unit could be produced that excludes these input channels and therefore would cost less to build?

No disrespect to you and you can setup your layout on how you want but if there's an emergency and you need to kill power to the track.  How do you do it with the DCS remote/APP in hand with the TIU in passive mode?  The answer is you can't.

It's the reason why I have a TPC300 in line with power running through the TIU as in case I need to kill power to the track I can kill it with no matter what remote/APP I have in hand.

Sorry for the hijack, I now return you to your regularly schedule thread.

The TIU has an internal relay which breaks the power connection from Input-to-Output when Emergency button is pressed.  Perhaps obvious but this also breaks the connection from Output-to-Input.  The basic idea is to monitor the voltage at the TIU INPUT terminals of a passively-powered TIU.  When the internal relay opens in response to the DCS Remote Emergency button the voltage at the TIU INPUT vanishes; an external relay powered by the TIU INPUT then drops out and disables whatever is powering the track.  This has been described in previous threads.

I think it's a fair question to ask if/how any new TIU product handles the Emergency Stop button and/or the removal of track power in passive mode.
