A quick question about POSI-TAPS.....

Hey guys. I did a search and read a bunch of posts but I am still confused.

I am using a 14GA stranded wire for my "buss" around the layout. Feeders will be 16GA or 18GA depending on application.

Here is the question.

What COLOR posi-tap do I use for 14GA stranded? All the information I read talks about what feeders wires can be used but for the life of me I cannot determine which ones to buy that can be tapped into the 14GA.

Is it like "regular" type plastic devices?

RED = 16GA or 18GA wire

Blue = 14GA wire

Yellow = 10GA or 12GA wire

I am guessing I need the blue ones.

Please keep answers related to the question to avoid having a discussion as to the benefits or not of using the product.

Donald, just saw your post.  FWIW, I used BLUE in my Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide when I had to make major mods to the wiring harness inside the fairing for such things as stereo, speakers, cruise control, etc.  It was necessary to use the Posi-Taps because it was impossible to solder/heat shrink many of the connections.

I had no wiring problems in 60K+ miles using the Blue version.
