Af prewar zephyr motor

Hi,

 This is Harry. I might have your motor mount from a donor motor. Problem is I do not know what it looks like. Can someone post a picture ?  My motor hangar mount is riveted to the motor side plate w/ 2 rivets. I do not want to remove if not the one needed.  Harry

Hi Harry- here is a picture of my motor from the small 9910 aluminum bodied Zephyr. Don't know if the bigger 9914 uses the same body mount bracket. Note that this bracket is attached with screws, not rivets. Hopes that this helps!........... Ken

Thank you guys so much its amazing to know some people still have kindness in their hearts....I'm almost in tears, this has been eating at me like crazy to find a bracket ever since I got the train in November. Harry I need to order and smoke stack and decals for it as well.

Can I use a Lionel transformer to run it.

Any AC trans will work.

Thanks Ken for the bracket and there finally starting to take shape. Finally got some time off to start polishing them.

Arron- that is really nice! Glad that you started! Are you using a power tool or doing it by hand? As I said before, the corregations areas and window areas are the pits to do, but again, I was doing those by hand with rags and Q-tips.

   I am at a standstill with my last set as I got tired of doing the same Zephyr decal decorations as done by Flyer. I decided to do a set decorated as the Silver Streak from the 1934-35 movie, with a bunch of custom names for the cars, as well as the fictional Chicago, Burlington and Denver road name. Had them laser printed here in Canada by a custom producer that I have used before. 

But have yard work to do so that project is waiting for time on my part.

I used a power tool for the roofs, as for polish I used mothers mag and aluminum polish. But for the sides I'm going to use old fashioned elbow grease. I may send it to you to do...just kidding...I'm having too much fun doing it myself. The results are stunning so far.

As I said, once you start seeing the results of the polishing, it motivates you to keep going. One of my sets took over 40 hours of hand polishing! But as you say, the results are stunning! Keep up the good work!
