MTH,
Would you please consider changing the numbers on the new offering of the Amtrak Genesis Phase V locos?
The 700 series numbers are incorrect for the P42 locos that most of us see across the country which carry numbers in the single digits to the low 200s.

What those guys said.... I'm leaving $1000 in my pocket unless the numbers change so the numbers on the locomotive reflect the model being made.
Want suggestions? I'd really love to see the one spot (#1) and the last one (#207), but anything in between would be fine.
Change at least one of them to a P42 number and I'll order it before the ink dries on the change notice.
In the alternative, is there a hobby shop out there that wants to make a custom run locomotive number?

I totally agree. The numbers on these engines are so large and prominent that they have to be right for the engine to look correct. All the Amtrak trains in the Midwest out of Chicago are the smaller numbers. Anything else ruins the appearance for us.

Thanks guys for your comments. I plan on attending Trainfest in Milwaukee next month and will talk in person with the fine folks at MTH about our request.
If the numbers get adjusted I would be buying. It would be great to have at least two distinct numbers or even three!

Here is a copy of the email I sent to MTH. I am placing it here so those that want can copy and paste it in their own email to MTH customer service to help further the cause. I will give them a call next week to provide more detail on the numbers and the reason for the request. I also plan on seeing them in Milwaukee next week in person at Trainfest! Thanks, Pete

Great news!! I talked with Andy Edelman today at Trainfest and MTH will be changing the cab numbers for the Phase V locos so they are in the 1-207 range!!!
Ill be placing my order this week.
Wow, great job all. I think this engine in this scheme, should be a hit. Nice to know it will be fixed.

Has it been put in writing anywhere (notice to dealers, catalog edits, etc)? Its great that they say they'll do it, but I dont really want to throw money at an oral agreement....
I'm just sitting here with my PS2 Amtrak Phase V Genesis (#180) in repairs. lol.

He was adamant that they were very aware of the number problem and that the final product will have numbers in the range we want.
I placed an order for both on his word.

MTH's O Gauge Newsletter email of Feb 15, 2017 has the Monthly 2017 v1 Catalog Spotlight on the P42 Genesis. If they intend to change the road numbers to somewhere in the 1 to 207 range, they have not updated their product graphic yet.

No need to worry. I called MTH last week and they confirmed the numbers have been changed but not updated on the catalog photos.

Glad you guys got your locos!!! I'll be picking mine up this weekend. I saw both 99 and 202 at Berwyns Trains last week and they look awesome!!!
