LUG Fall 2016

Friday October 21, 2016 7:45-9am!

Meeting @ 7:45

Mike Petronella has scheduled us in the  Orange Hall meeting room at 7:45.  We will provide doughnuts but ask that beverages be purchased at the concessions.  Many thanks to the EDTCA for helping us out!  The meeting room is at the far right hand side of the Orange Hall lobby.  See map below!

The Lionel Legacy Users Group is not associated with Lionel Trains in any way other than sharing the enjoyment and trading of information related to operating the Lionel Legacy System!

It's that time again!  The Legacy Users Group will meet in the Orange Hall Meeting Room.  (See map above).  At this time I hoping to get some doughnuts based on the replies here.

Start getting your Legacy questions, Legacy product ideas, and any other questions or thoughts related directly to Legacy in to be submitted to Lionel's own Jon Zahornacky, Rudy Trubitt, and Mike Reagan.  As always we hope to have Mike attend to answer questions on hand.  We'll also try to pry out a little information on what's next for Legacy and where Lionel is heading in regards to Legacy.

Legacy is 10 years old now and a lot of folks have become very comfortable with it's operation.  Our questions have gone from pages to just one or two pages.  That is a good sign.

We'll check in with the LCS partners to see what's new with them and what we can expect coming in the future.

So start asking your questions as they pertain to Legacy and give us a firm commitment if you plan on attending. To save some thread clutter, if you have a "Like"  from me in this thread consider yourself, any one in your mentioned party counted, or your question noted.

As always we can show you how to upgrade your Legacy system and make the newest system software.  All you will need is (2) black writable modules.

We plan on recording the event for playback later the next week.

Some planned agenda items as of now...

We have received something from Lionel to preview.

As we always do, we will cover updates and review the Apps from the LCS partner's including eTrain Console and High Rail. We will have some handouts for these.

Dale Manquen has provided some information on his MANCO  TMCC/ Legacy Track Signal Buffer / Booster Kit.  While not a Lionel LCS Partner, Dale has come up with some great information and products to enhance your enjoyment of TMCC and Legacy.

Here are the question sent to Lionel.

York is too far and too costly for me to attend (maybe a one time visit someday), but I really do enjoy the reports and videos of your LUG meetings. I hope you do that again this time and is you do I will certainly be watching for them.

As of today we plan on recording it for release the next week.  Thanks for the compliments!

Marty,

If for some reason you don't have anyone to record it I'd be happy to do it.

Thanks Marty, I will be watching for your posts. You are most welcome, and thank you for having the meeting, making the videos and reports, taking all the questions and everything else that goes into to having the meeting.

MARTY E.,

The question I have for the Legacy Team is,

Is there anything in the future to add more trains to the Cab 2? ENG 0-98 with ENG 99 controlling all engines   I am getting close to filling up the Legacy remote and I would like to know.  Thank you for your time.

Actually it's the base that stores the data...you could buy another set and store 98 in each base. Of course you would have to use one base at a time and not mix engines from both bases...

I'm wondering if Lionel could make/market a TMCC/Legacy signal strength car. Could be a line of LEDs that show signal strength as to how many are lighted as the car is pulled around the track areas. There are already TMCC/Legacy cars and it would not take much to design one and add an analog readout such as this. Any interest?

The web shows it "permanently closed". Please continue to submit questions. We may improvise for the fall and see what spring brings.

Interestiing though as I always confirm the room before I post. As of 9/5, they had no idea they were closing. Or they strung us along.

John I know you guys have an event there Thursday night. Might want to alert the troops.
