I have a question:

When we hit the keypad number on the right hand side of the controller four buttons down to boost smoke and depth of sound (NOT the #9 button which turns smoke on, medium and high) (Sorry I forgot the terminology) can Lionel upgrade so that we know how many keystrokes have been hit? I do not know how many keystrokes take us from begin to boost to maximum. 

So we have about 5 questions going to Lionel.

I realize this is a Legacy meeting...I'm trying to phrase a question to include the word Legacy, but actually ask for something loosely related. How about manufacturing dummy engines with pickup rollers on so that one may be more easily and cost effectively install some kind of Legacy/TMCC related circuitware...and hopefully including some kind of customer installed IR transmitter kit for example?

The ERR kits greatly expand the interest and activity of Lionel products, an IR kit would be fabulous.

The IR kit would be great, that's a cool idea.

 

Marty, if it hasn't already been asked, is there going to be updates to how the LCS application edits the layout?  One of the things I run into, and maybe I'm just not doing it right, is the layout runs against one side.  I'd like to be able to select all and move it over, but I can't seem to figure out if there's a way to do that.  It would also be very useful to select a chunk of what you have and move it, say to insert a forgotten switch.  While we're dreaming, having the layout larger than one screen and being able to smooth scroll around on it would be REALLY keen.

 

I've seen that one side thing and I do move it to where ever. I don't know how I do...maybe use two fingers instead of one, something like that.

When I scroll over, it asks me if I want to start a new layout or import one.  Neither, I want to just have more room.

 

I did discover I can zoom out, that was something I didn't realize worked.

 

Ok. I know that issue too. I see that I can zoom out or in with two fingers. Try resting two fingers on the screen for a couple seconds and then move them without zoom. The layout should follow and stay wherever you leave it.

Blow me down, that works!   I did have two fingers, but I didn't leave them there long enough for it to register, and it would keep scrolling to a "new" layout.

 

Now if I could just make the layout span pages...

 

That's going to take a different kind of patience I think...with the code guy/gals.

The other thing I'd like to be able to do is select a section and move it as a unit.  When you're doing the layout, you frequently forget to insert something, and you want to shove everything out to make room for it.

 

Yes it leaves a lot to want. I was thinking that...some real layout editing. I suppose some day it'll be possible.

So the questions have been sent.  Not many to cover.  We will have a couple of LCS partner demos including High Rail and eTrain Console.

Agenda posted in first post as well as the LCS Partner information we will be showing.  I don't expect this meeting to be long.  We only had a handful of questions and the demos will be basic in nature.

 

Either everyone is starting to get Legacy or...

Just FYI I hope to get some flyers from the folks at TM and Bob P here on the forum for the new video they produced showing the setup and use of TMCC and Legacy.  From the preview that was posted, it looks to be a fine addition to the Legacy family.

 

I will also have the latest Base and Cab software on hand.  If you need a copy please bring 2 writable modules and we'll show you how to make 'em.  I will not have modules on hand.

Marty also i think we need to ask Lionel when the Legacy Utility App will be back up on the new website also some of the videos for Legacy utility work have been down as well. See you soon.

They are there, unfortunately not easily found on the new website.  I am certainly going to make sure the Lionel management knows how poorly the Legacy section of the site is.

I know it's late, but I recalled two recent posts by forum members that received their repaired legacy units from Lionel with version 1.6.

 

Is this available for download or when will it be available? What's new in it?

1.6 is available per Jon Z and Mike Reagan.  The following are the updates...

 

The changes made from v1.54 were as follows:
---------------------------------------------

* Adds support for Legacy Station Sounds Diner cars.

* Adds new TxIR (Transmit IR) button to the "Custom" tab of the CAB2 display. This feature is for use with upcoming Lionel SensorCar, which allow trains pulled by older locomotives to work with SensorTrack.

* Allows proper CAB2/SensorTrack configuration of current or future products with SensorTrack compatability, such as Subway, Breakdown B-unit, Freight Car, Station Sounds cars and Legacy Crane/Boom Car.

* Train builder: Fixed bug where Train Link wasn't automatically set on accessories, passenger car, etc. when that device's TMCC ID was between 1 to 9.

Thank you, Marty. That's answered. I am still bouncing around with new web site to find stuff.

I haven't found much that is easily found on the new website, I hope you are including that too. A search box on the opening page (like MTH now has) would really be a handy thing to have. Even a quick link to the search where you got the LSU info in your 'LSU Page' link would be an improvement.

 

I can't make it to York, way too far for me, but I am looking forward to your video of the LUG meeting (I sure hope you are doing one). I look forward to those from every meeting. Many thanks for doing them for all of us that can't attend. It's a great service to the rest of us out here and I am sure many others enjoy them as well.

 

There is a search box if you click on the search symbol in the upper right hand corner.

When did they put that there?   Was looking for something the other day and it was driving me nuts. I was thinking they had a search when they first changed things, but I just could not find it a few days ago, right in front of me all the time. They say the mind its the second thing to go, or was that the third?

 

Now, if you would so kind as to remind me of that every week or so...

There was a show on the brain (Nova maybe?) the other night and it was really interesting when they showed the scene and asked viewers if they saw this or that. Most never saw more than 10% of what was in the scene. The brain fills in the missing data to make the scene seem complete, but not accurate.

I have not gone to the support page yet so I maybe asking a silly question but will Lionel do updates at the York? Do you need to update the based and handheld?

As far as I know Lionel does not do upgrades at York. And yes it is recommended to both the base and the cab unit. 

Must have been mine they were talking about.   I do believe all that they were saying though, makes sense. I think I can verify it really happens too.

FYI

We hope to have the video up mid week. With the new room layout we did have some issues that we are addressing for next year. I realize that there were issues and I will not use this thread to discuss them.
