First of all thank you very much for all your help on my last questions. It has helped. I now have an issue with my switches not working correct. No matter how I move around the insulating pins I get vibrating excetera excetera. Please see my pictures of the way I have it set up. The 2 022 switches is where I'm having a problem now. I did not connect them because I wanted to show you the way I have them set up relative to the insulating pins. Please help.

Issue number 2. I want you to look at the way I have the insulating pins set up in the 022 switch. that is the only way it'll work correctly. Did I set this up right? Again, it seems to work fine this way and if I change the insulating pin to the inside track it won't work??

In a nutshell please explain how the insulating pins work, function on post-war switches as I am baffled. I'm sure this will help what is going on.

Much thanks Jerry

In your first picture, it seems like you have a crossover set up.  You also need a insulating pin in the short rail opposite the pin you already have installed, that is causing your problem.  The control rails must have their pins in or the switches will chatter and not work.  If you need to get power to your inside loop, connect another lock on...

The O22 switches use insulating pins in a different location from the O72 switches you recently posted about. Note the gap in the longest curved rail.

I found this Lionel service manual image in another post by ACDX Rob.

Thanks Rob, this is about the best way to explain it.
