I was shopping at HD today and found Rejuvenate Restorer Wipes.  I used them on my aluminum clad windows where the cladding was heavily oxidized.  It looked good, so I tried it on a train.  The roof of my Lionel 1679 Baby Ruth car was dull.  I used the wipes on it, and it became very shiney and stayed that way!  Wow!  I have been using TR-3 Resin Glaze, but that requires polishing and doesn't leave as shiney of a finish.

The Rejuvenate says it protects as well.  I got some on my hands, and my finger nails have a shine that will not wash off.  I noticed the finish on the train car was sticky and needed to dry.  Not sure what is in this.  Has anyone tried it?

The wipes last longer on cleaner surfaces.  I should have cleaned my window cladding first, because the wipes didn't work as well as they got dirty.

For the trains, I think you can do a lot of cars with one wipe.  I put mine back in the aluminum wrapper and then in a zip-lock bag.  I didn't trust the solution against the plastic bag without the original packing. I am not sure how long they will last in the zip-lock bag. Also, I recommend wearing gloves. I used a latex glove.

If the finish on the car was sticky it might have softened the paint so be careful.  try someplace underneath to check it out.

It dries in a few minutes and is hard as a rock.  I just don't handle it until it is dry.  Otherwise the shine can become a smudge.

It does look like Armor All. The Armor All that I have used was for plastic, though.  This says it works on metal.
