I'd like to see a set of the original 5-cars that made up the 7-car (original had 3 coaches) Silver Meteor in 1939.  Maybe a sleeper and a sun-lounge car thrown in as extras to sweeten the pot

They'd go mighty fine with my 3rd Rail E7 (or maybe an E4, with working nose door, in Citrus paint)!

Let's see some numbers!

Here's 1 pre-order, mine

(how can I get this to show on the 2-rail and 3-rail scale forums?)

As a kid in the fifties and sixties, I used to ride the Silver Star and Meteor to visit relatives during summer vacation. I wondered at the time where they got the word "Silver" from in the name, since most of the cars used in the train were old Pullman Heavyweights with marginal (if it worked at all!) air conditioning. I don't recall the locos being painted in the Citrus scheme, but I do remember the mint green with red stripe E-units on the front. The best part for this Florida kid was the GG1's that were used North of Washington DC!

Steve,

I understand, I go thru the same thing.

Bill, I read that the GG1s used on the Meteor were painted different than the ones used on other trains, I haven't paid much attention to the GG1s, but I know PRR and SAL combined energies on the Meteor, PRR even had coaches built just like the SAL coaches (with PENNSYLVANIA on the side of course) as part of the consist.
