Atlas O Accessory Rails Install??? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I'm finishing up my track work and cannot remember how to hook up my Atlas accessory rails. Thanks for any help!

Do I have to drill holes into the top of the ties to insert the tabs of the accessory rails?

How far do I offset the accessory rails between the middle and outer rail?

And how do I wire these up to the switch and provided power?

The Atlas accessory rails fit into the holes that are in the ties of the straight section. you have to drill out the remaining plastic from the underside to open the hole. The holes are set so that the rails match the spacing of the accessory contacts that Lionel used.

As I recall, there is a screw tab that goes between the ties of the

atlas track, making it easy to connect power to the rail.
