Auction site changing o scale?

It has always worked fine for me.  I am reminded of Walter Matthau in "Grumpy Old Men" or its sequel saying something like, "Change is never for the better".

I haven't heard that.  I search in G scale a lot and I have noticed lately that every other scale is listed in with G scale also.  I hope they mean that all other scales will be relisted in their appropriate grouping.  I've noticed this in the other scale listings also but not as much.

Would be nice to split modern Lionel up, grouping 1987 to now is a mess.

Same with MTH, Rail King and Premier.

Even Atlas O 2Rail/3Rail

In order to split the modern era up, folks would have to know when their train was made. I think people have enough trouble knowing the brand of their trains.

I was just on there trying to help some one do a sale of a train and after you get past say 1987 and newer is where there is changes from last time I was on there theres more description items to pick from like guage and they give you choices of meter,narrow, and standard ???? for O guage. then power supply AC or DC

control digital or analog 

and a bunch of other junk after that 

I agree its difficult for others to post in correct categories, we even have that problem on the forum as rich has been ranting about. I for one would welcome the bay cleaned up a bit. More sections for buildings, castings, etc... Better category for brass maybe distinguish between 2 and 3 rail categories better. The other category is also overfull, i have to admit i've scored a few times due to this, but would benefit more when its cleaned up. I guess we will see what they decide.

one for 2 rail one for 3 rail one for On3 ect would help also but then the problem would be getting folks to use the correct one how many times do you see HO listed in O because there to lazy to do a little research on the item they are selling. 

I realize that most of us dislike change. I hope they separate modern/vintage tinplate by scale. Some days it's a bugger-bear just sorting through the Std Gauge.

 

I know it's not even possible over there. There has to be a way to educate the sellers as to what scale they are wanting to sell.

I don't see how Ebays set up is hard for some to use as it stands now. A lot of the folks selling really don't know trains and to expect them to know On3 or 2 rail brass is a bit much.

3. Pick your manufacturer.

I think what others and i are saying is it could be better and i think they have noticed as well. Take the brass import section, forget the lanterns, books, diecast cars etc... Your still left with 2 rail 3 rail, on30 etc... All mixed in. Sometimes its difficult to distinguish beteen them from the pictures, plus when your looking for a item you have to scroll though a bunch of irrevalant items. Like when you go to a new car dealership they have most things sorted out by types of vehicles. Not all jumbled together. While their system obviously works, i eagerly await the new layout and hopefully the changes will be positive. Not only does it help buying, but i believe it will help the sellers as well. I also agree that you can just type what your looking for but sometimes i like to browse other items and not specifically looking for a certain thing.
