I have a engine that stop running ,i charged the battery it came on with sound went a couple of feet an stop dead , pulled it a part an check the speaker ohm reading which was 4 ohms disconnect the speaker for the board an try the engine it started up an all functions worked ran the engine around the lay out all was good.when i connect the speaker again the sound came on went to move the engine it went dead disconnect the speaker an the engine ran with all functions but sound.could this be the amp on the board.

The exact make and model of the engine makes a huge difference in making more than a random guess about what is happening.

I install a proto-sound kit in a diesel engine last year it ran great had no problem till i put it on the tracks it ran an than it started to stop dead ,restarted it it ran an than it would stop .as i said i charged the battery an it did the same, unplug the speaker from the board it runs good all the functions work expect the sound.

Well, I'd IMMEDIATELY stop trying to run it and see if there's a short to the frame for any of the speaker leads. Any contact to frame ground will start toasting things in the board!
