Can the Lionel Bell Activation button be used with/over TMCC? (Is there a chance doing so will damage any TMCC components?)

Question is related to using a Lionel Polar Express "All Aboard" sound car, which is designed to trigger the audible announcement in conventional mode with the bell button. All while running a TMCC locomotive.
