Charles Ro has them in stock.  I am heading over to reprogram a huge batch he just got in.  If you go to York, I always have a pair in my pocket in the event anyone needs the equipment updated.

If you buy a set of blank ones, it is a good thing to get familiar with the LSU.   Very easy to work with.

Have a friend trying to update but he said it keeps showing error page. Lionel just sent him the Re-writable module? any help thanks.

1 module.  Make a base module and upgrade the base. Once done use the same module to create a Cab module. Then upgrade it. Do it all the time. Unless he want to keep a set on hand for both, 1 is all you need.

The LSU is very user friendly.   Easy to use.

I have two Black modules - one for the base and one for the Remote. Just easier for me to keep them separate. Little white dot on one and a green dot on the other.

Also use it to save engine data so I can take the module where ever I go.

Make sure you follow the directions - last person  forgot to power up the base. Also Lionel has the updated - written up dates on the site.

Attached are the directions and manual - doesn't matter Blue or Black - Process it the sams

MartyE is correct.  You can get by with one.  If you are going to do upgrades for people it just makes it a bit easier with two.  I know  people who buy them from a dealer like to buy a set all programmed and ready to go.

Marty, at your Legacy meeting do you go with one and re do it or do you work with the two?

 Thanks for all the information I pass that onto my buddy actually I think he signed up for Ogauger.com so he can read all this himself  he was under the impression that the new module black one you would just plug into your USB port and download the information there he didn't realize or we didn't realize you had to go through the base it's kind of funny now is it.

At the Legacy meeting, we usually are making modules with folks.  Showing them how it's done if possible.  I'll test them before they leave with them.  Most folks don't want to drag their Legacy Base into the meeting.  In all reality, I think I've only made 3 sets of modules in all the years doing this.  I do have a set with me in case I do need to update a system.  It makes things move slightly faster.

At a recent Trackers meeting a couple of members brought in black modules with 1.6 to update Legacy Cabs and bases.  Unfortunately, my base would not upgrade and two different modules were tried.  If I try upgrading on my home computer (I have modules) is there a chance it might work or do I need to send it back to Lionel?

It never hurts to try but if the modules are known good it's doubtful.  I was updating the stock in my LHS 2 weeks ago and had 1 base that would not upgrade.  The other 3 went fine.  If you have the modules and a few minutes give it a try.  Usually the base will flash an error code if it will not update.

My cab 2 and base are still using 1.3.  Can I use these modules to upgrade to 1.6 and 1.61 or should I buy new modules?   

Yes, you can.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention my alternative option for black modules.
