Hello everyone.

I have a mth premier blue goose Hudson, and I am looking for a set of passenger cars for it.

What I need is a set of mth 20-6592 to( buy) and the add on set that goes with them

sorry I don't know the number for them. Does any one have a set for sale. All 7 cars.

          Thank you. Mike.

As Matt notes, the MTH matching colored cars look nice (assuming someone likes a lot of light blue in their trains), but it's a fantasy paint job. The Goose pulled mostly the normal olive colored Santa Fe cars. Lionel has made a nice set of these heavyweights, and probably MTH has made some similar cars as well.

That's a great picture. The MTH Santa Fe heavyweights have two flaws -- the baggage car has Pennsy-style doors (porthole) and the color is more of a Pullman green than a Santa Fe green. Lionel has the right color; GGD has the right size AND the right color. I think they have the modernized heavyweight coaches available which I believe Santa Fe also used with the Blue Goose.

I would not mention this if it were not posted on the 3R Scale forum, but Santa Fe heavyweight passenger cars did not look like other railroads" heavyweights.  Most of the baggage cars had fish-beily frames.  The chair cars had six-wheel trucks and large single windows, and the frame was prominent at the bottom of the side sheeting.  A large number of the 6-wheel trucks were not of the commonly-produced type.

I have cars like the ones described above from Lionel and GGD.  Prototypical Santa Fe baggage cars and chair cars are very expensive and were never made for three-rail track.  I compromise and am okay with doing so.  But you put this on the scale forum, and I thought you should know that a set of prototypical Santa Fe heavyweight cars is a very significant investment.

Go to http://www.atsfrr.net and see what they really looked like.

The best looking heavyweights are the ones Golden Gate Depot did; the Lionel Santa Fe heavyweights also look good, but are 72-foot instead of 80-foot.

The Goose spent a good part of it's life from 1938 to 1946 hauling the Fast Mail Express, train numbers 7 and 8 between Chicago and LaJuanta, Colorado, so it also pulled mail, baggage and express cars.

The cover shot of Morning Sun's Santa Fe 1940-1971 Vol 1 in Color shows the Goose pulling the first section of the Grand Canyon, a mixed bag of streamliners and heavyweights.

The Blue Goose was taken out of service in 1953 and scrapped in 1956.

Any passenger car that says Santa Fe on the letterboard would look good coupled to the 3460.  The blue cars are fantasy, but would look good.  Since there is an abundance of experts (in their own minds) on everything in our hobby, there are surely some who would visit your railroad and point out that there never were any real "Blue Goose" passenger cars, and the answer to that is, "Yeah, you're probably right, but they're mine and I like them."
