Attention all you Boston subway mavens-  trying to put together a 1970 Pullman-Standard Red Line car.   Understand some of the 1500-series cars were single unit double-enders but cannot corroborate visually.  Can anyone help with a photo or even just the right car numbers?  Would very much appreciate any assistance.  Will post photo of the completed project if successful.  Thank you!

Wow, Boston guy here and love the replicas of the Boston subway cars especially the East Boston Tunnel cars as I grew up in Eastie.  How did you make them?  Did you kit bash an MTH model or are they from scratch?

Blue Line-

Car #1 is a kit-bashed "Bostonized" St. Petersburg Tram Collection O-scale kit of a Cleveland rapid transit car put out in 2004.  Sadly, they were never repeated.  Car #2 is a bit of a mystery, acquired years ago on ebay.  It is a very good unmistakeable model of an East Boston car, but it was painted light gray with yellow lettering reading "WABCO" (for Westinghouse Air Brake, I presume) and a blue top.  Destination sign read "Chicago".  Both cars were repainted as-delivered two-toned gray separated by an orange belt line.  Although the Cleveland kit was bashed to resemble Boston, real life was exactly the opposite.  It was Boston that led the way with those beautiful picture window subway cars, with Cleveland following up in 1955.  Of all of Boston's fascinating subway system, I always thought the Blue Line was the coolest.  Incidentally, it is possible to kit bash an East Boston or Blue Line car from an MTH Chicago PCC 6000-series subway set.  You will have your choice of powered or unpowered, but it will take some time and patience.  If you want to see pix of a prototype and model, check out the "Cleveland Rapid Transit" thread in February.  Yes, I know it's Cleveland, but if you can do Cleveland, you're 95% there.  Good luck!
