Both red lights flash when controller is in base ( over charged indicator )  When controller is removed cannot turn it on - ctc button pressed but no screen.  I have not used system for 2 months. The system is about 18 months old and been used very little.   Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Art, I had the same issue a short time ago, I only have a carpet layout right now that the wife lets me have out a few days at a time.

The last time I got the set up out again both my red lights were flashing, I got a pencil eraser and cleaned the contacts on the base and handheld unit, cleaned then with a clean rag also... bingo lights then were correct and it charged the batteries ...hope this works for you.

No need for the button if the alkaline batteries brought it back, that was just the next step if they didn't.

The proper operation of the charger is first alternating red lights that slow as it charges, then alternating green lights, finally steady green lights indicating fully charged.

I recommend being careful with pencil erasers on the contacts.  The pink erasers are abrasive and will wear the very thin gold flash off the contacts.  When that happens, you'll have real problems ever getting a reliable connection!  This used to be a continuing issue with older electronics with lots of card edge connectors.  I can't count the number of destroyed cards I saw where they cleaned the contacts with an eraser whenever they had an issue.
