I will be starting a new layout build soon, and I was thinking of doing it in stages. One of the issues I will have is time/money. The entire room needs to be repainted, the doors to the room need to be changed out, I need to add more lighting, and more all before I can even do benchwork.
One way I was thinking of getting over the itch to get stuff done right away is to build a small section of benchwork right away. Maybe the section where the town is, where I can build that all the way to the finished scenery part, before anything else is done.
Why would I consider this you may ask? Well one reason is that it could also use this section as a photo module as I build out the rest of the layout. With completed scenery, a proper backdrop, etc I could photograph trains in that section until the rest of the layout is built.
Any else do anything like this?
