Cab 2 "Brake" permanently on | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have 2 Legacy cab 2s and one now has the "Brake" function permanently on with the red Base station light blinking.

Turning the unit off and then on makes no difference. If I remove the batteries and replace them, the problem clears until I address an engine, then the "Brake" function comes on again.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix?

That's typically the brake slider malfunctioning. Some folks have fixed it by blowing compressed air in (gently) around the slider.

I had the same problem--try the reset button on back of the cab2. if that does not help send it back to Lionel and they will replace the break/boost button.

Last resort.....loosen screws on back of cab 2.......button may be binding.

I tried the compressed air "trick" and it seems to have worked. If the issue recurs I'll try the reset and loosening screws.
