I am posting this for a friend. His father made this ferry a few years ago and he wanted to know if there would be any interest in it. Can anyone put a value to it or even a guess to what it might be worth? It has 3 tracks as seen in the pics and is 36" long , 10" wide and 10" high to the smoke stack, has lights inside, made of wood. I would think a harbor scene would be a fitting place for this. I have always wanted to do something like that but mount it on a roll around cart that could 'plug' into the layout.  This one is nicely done.  Given the current pricing trends on already build models, if one would have room for it, I think $250 -$300 would be appropriate.  It is well done.  It sure would add to the operating sessions as it is 'industry neutral' in that any kind of car would fit.  Also you can't just shove cars on to a floating ferry, you have to balance the load, so one in the middle, one on the left, one on the right, until full,  etc.  Russ

Sorry, I don't have any idea about the pricing, but I certainly think there would be an interest for this item. You don't see this type of stuff become available too often and I think there are probably a lot of folks that would like to have something like this on their layout. I think it looks very nice and well made, a nice unique item.

The only drawback I can see is it's size and not everyone will have room for something this large. But, OTOH there are quite a few folks that would (or could) have room for it. Good luck!

I have one on my layout that Alex M made for me.   The current layout doesn't allow for it to be loaded and unloaded as my old one did, but this layout is really created for the kids.  My next layout in about 10 years or so will be strictly operations depicting the rail yard to support the ferry and operations of loading and unloading it.

Here is the photo of it in the harbor.  I will be soon adding a lighthouse in the background along with a break water.

If your looking to sell and the price is right I might pick it up from you.
