Thanks. I agree, that would make a great model for somebody to market a kit. It would be a very difficult project to scratchbuild, but it would make a very nice kit or ready-built model.

Does this mean it has stopped snowing????

Sam, thank goodness, no snow for about a week. What was on the ground is going fast now, but we still have remnants of it. Now we are waiting for the ice to drop in the lake. Then you know spring is finally here.

There are three train stations on the layout. The one pictured above I named for my wife, Elizabeth. The Station in the D56 area is the Lionel (by TW Design) Grand Central Terminal. The station in the Seasons Bay area is the Lionel aluminum version Rico Station.

Pete, I'm a very hyper guy, not only do I work on structures and engines everyday.I also  workout, run, and dabble in boxing everyday. The only time I rest is Saturday and Sunday other than that I'm going 100 mph everyday. LOL

Brian, I love the layout. Your dedication in allowing all your citizens freedom of movement by providing all the marvelous passenger trains shows there really is such a thing as a benevolent dictator.

Beauty of a layout BRIAN.  Where are you located in Maine?  Wife and I go to Bar Harbor and Acadia every year in the summer.  I sure would love to see this beauty of a layout, only if you allow visitation, of course.

     The Rico Station architecture really fits well with the Season's Bay buildings. My question for you or Alex is regarding Elizabeth Station. If I'm reading correctly, there are as many as 7 large fluorescent 110v bulbs lighting the Station. That has to be giving off a ton of heat. Are you venting it (and how) or is it not an issue? Elizabeth Station and your entire layout are World Class! Great job.

Vents are in the back and on top, no issues with heat build up.

Brian, how many passenger trains do you have on the layout at one time??

There are eight main lines, so I can easily run that number at one time without having to be careful.

Additionally there are 14 storage sidings for passenger trains, so that would be 22 on the layout at one time.

Favorites, the CZ, El Capitan, Texas Special, and the Alaska Denali Limited.

Just came across this beautiful Passenger Station.  I have seen some

great toy train layouts but this is the most incredible piece of work

one could hope to see on a toy train layout.

My wife catches the Metra into downtown Chicago to go to work at this station.  It does have a neat look to it.

Are you from La Grange, my dad lived on waiola ave and before that Peck av e graduated LT 1962 went into Marines that year
