Not sure if this should be here or in the electrical forum but here goes. I have two Lionel TMCC Alcos, a A and a B unit and want to semi-hard wire the two together. When I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was going to wire the two separate antennas from the two units in common together he suggested that it was not a good idea but could not put his finger on exactly why he thought that was a bad idea. Any thoughts?

I was told once that sometimes there can be pockets of signal dead space around a layout that if the given antenna falls into this dead space it could loose the TMCC signal. So I figured that if you tie two antennas together in different units that you would never encounter such a problem. Also I simply have an extra pin on the plug I am using and thought i could use it for that.
