Off the top of my head late at night.  There's talk about a propane center to be built on the right off way but I think it's only talk.  No customers to speak off as of now that could use the rails.

 

The engine in question is owned by a private group and was restored cosmetically a few years ago. Sorry but I can't remember the engine number.

 

  Conway RR owns 7470 a 0-6-0 which is getting it's 15 year inspection.  One to two years for the rebuild.  The new owners are open to more steam operations where the last one only cared about the bottom line(so I've been told).  This sale is a win win for the RR and us fans.  From what I've been reading on other forums about the sale, good times lay ahead.

I would like to see the trains run from Portland like the old Maine Central did from S. Portland Rigby yard from decades back.  I just don't know if a tourist railroad could run profitably 60+ miles one way 2-3 hours each way. Maybe run the occasional "special" or leaf peeper trains. Best of luck in their new endeavor, I will be 1st in line if they do.

At one point it was at the Claremont Concord RR, which seems to be part of the Genesee & Wyoming.  I recently read that it was moved to the Hobo RR to finish the restoration. Here's a link. You'll have to scroll down a bit to find it:

By the way, the Conway Scenic RR has a mystery theatre dinner trip in a couple of weels. Wish I was better at planning time off. That sounds like a lot of fun.  I hope they continue to offer those kind of activities.

I searched the WMUR website and didn't find anything. 
 
Anyway, I hope this is good news for the area.  You need more than a tourist train to run a railroad from North Conway to Portland.

It would be interesting if the track to Maine gets restored, or south of Conway, to provide additional excursion routes. Or, the line to Vermont beyond where their ownership ends at the north end. There are other short lines that connect at the north end. Is that the RR's only connection to the outside world? What active track can be used from Boston to the CSRR? I was never there but know enough info about it. Seems like they are going to be diesel only for the next couple of years with 7470 down.
