In general all of my MTH engines coexist peacefully at all times on the layout. Recently, however, I found that when I operated my PS2 4-6-4 Hudson while my PS3 S2 Turbine was on the track -- not powered up, the PS3 would -- at times -- take off in forward or reverse. The PS2 engine ID is #3 and the PS3 is ID #2. Is this a problem others have had? Is the cure to give the PS2 a different ID#?

Thanks

G,

Correct, the PS3 is on powered track but not started up. First time it happened I thought it was something I did being careless with the remote. The second time it was definite. I set the PS2 to go in reverse rolled the thumbwheel up to about 4 smph and the PS3 took off backwards at high speed.

This particular remote is in need of your services for a thumbwheel replacement. It works but is sitting kind of crooked and you have to really bear down on it. Could that be the problem?

Thanks, S

It is possible as you may be selecting a different engine.  Did you try a different address?  It is also weird it goes at a high speed vice speed control speed.  G

Over the years  this  is nothing new, occasionally a engine would just take off for no apparent reason. I haven't run across it lately though.

Recently  had a engine sitting derailed on a turntable deck on tiu #1, when I address an different  engine on tiu #4 it took off. I could duplicate it  until we found the  derailed engine  . Crazy !
