Does anyone have a cruise commander kit or they want to sell for a good price? $119 seems kinda expensive!

Agreed, but that seems to be the going rate with few discounting and certainly none selling it at dealer cost as Boxcar Bill did. A similar forum discussion about a month ago originating from my query topic of where to find ERR products being sold below msrp turned up NADA so go luck with your search.
Since anyone selling one would have to replace it at that price, I suspect it'll be difficult to find one for significantly less.
Yes, it does seem high for a Cruise Commander, but then if you look at what it cost to develop it, plus continue to improve on it, I don't think the price is unreasonable. Have you priced out an MTH PS2 or PS3 upgrade lately? I have heard that there are delays in getting an MTH upgrade, don't know if they still are having delivery issues or not.
To me, I think it is worth it. Plus, calling ERR and getting phone help from them is a hell of a lot easier than calling MTH.

Oh I know that nobody is going to take one off, I guess I was fishing for the best price or someone like me who bought 3 mini comanders when the price was great and was looking to sell one off after not using it!
Are you looking for a Cruise Commander or a Cruise Commander Lite? There was never a special price on the full Cruise Commander.
Well John, I'm wanting to put it in a Williams twin motor F7 set I've got coming from Marios. So I'm guessing I have to have the full version not just a lite right?
Yep, you need the real deal for that rig.
You'll get more pleasure out of this $100 than anything else you buy. The engine speed control you get is fantastic. I have 4...1 Kline steamer and 2 diesels and an electric, Williams GG1.
Well that is the route I'm taking then!
Just so you understand something also what the dealers pay for these and there profit isn't that high after you consider a few things one $119 cost the dealer about $72 so with that $47 He has expenses that leaves him with very little. Boxcar Bill had the luck of working out of his house most dealers don't so they have to consider a portion of every they do as part of over head cost so bottom line they are not making much when all is said and done.
I'm not a dealer but was for a short time It doesn't have the mark up everyone thinks they do.
I'm not sure where you got your dealer cost, as the ERR discount is 30% for a price of $84 to a dealer for the $120 Cruise Commander.

John is absolutely correct, the cruise commander dealer cost is 84.00 list price is 119.95, when a dealer discounts the item there's so little profit for him. For example if a dealer takes 10 percent off, his profit is 26.00 dollars that's not to good. Considering having a corporation and the expenses he has, really not worth being a dealer, unless you have massive volume. Trust me !
Thanks, Alex
If you have a good relationship with a dealer your best bet to get a discount is a volume order. I don't know if ERR has a minimum order requirement for dealers, but if they do you may have to purchase the entire order. Also, pay cash.
So get a group of friends together and just try.

I think $119 for CC and cruise is a great deal, very easy to install, use, and includes terrific technical support. RICH
I ordered one for $124.95 including S&H.

I would respectfully disagree with that thought. Considering the performance improvement to be gained with Cruise Commander over years of operation of the locomotive, I do not consider the price to be out of line. In the last few years I paid $1400 for a 4-8-4 and $1000 for a 3-unit F7 diesel, both from Sunset and both with ERR. However I have 2 steam engines and 6 Atlas Diesels with EOB instead of ERR, and 2 Atlas diesels with TMCC but no cruise control. I could put ERR Cruise Commander in each of them, thereby gaining better performance and much better engine sounds in, for about the price of the 2-unit Lionel Legacy Fairbanks-Morse H16-44 I currently have on order. I plan to operate these for many more years.
So, $119 for one Cruise Commander kit? I don't think it's high.
I agree, for the price it is more than worth it for the improvement in performance and control. I have used ERR in many engines, and not only is the electronics super, but the tech support I have gotten from Ken is always excellent.

I have recently picked up some Atlas O engines equipped with EOB, with which I'm not familiar. Do you think removing the EOB cruise and installing ERR cruise is worth the money, or is EOB generally adequate? How much improvement would ERR give, would you say?
I prefer ERR cruise over EOB, but I wouldn't rip EOB out if it's working properly, it's not bad. I'd live with them and make up your own mind if you think you need an improvement.
