Ironic they are concerned about the railroad being in an open trench during construction while interstate highway I-395 towers overhead (see article photo).

Meanwhile they oppose a plan to cover the open yard tracks north of Union Station to support mixed-use development.

I've been following this -- a local story for me -- pretty closely. Obvious at this point they're going to get no traction in the courts on injunctive relief.

The homeowners there -- a nice section of Captiol Hill -- bought properties so close to the RR right of way and as mentioned above near the 395 freeway that I don't have much sympathy. The rail lines and freeway have been there for decades.

I'm against this project as it will be a financial burden to me.

I try to prototypically run my trains, and that means single stacking all containers cars running north of the CSX lines above D.C.  Double stacking the cars means that I will have to buy more Atlas containers, 20 @ $25 each for a grand total of $500.

This blows my entire beer budget for the upcoming year!

You should sue those *******s. Oh, claim you tripped and twisted your ankle pacing back and forth worrying about it and sue them for that too.
