I do not use this track, I use Gar Graves but this past York I bought the Lionel die cast bridge. After buying it I realized that I was going to need two girder bridges and two transition tracks. My question is can the base of fast track, the two transition tracks, be cut down to give it a lower profile to match the Gar Graves on cork roadbed on the plywood. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

I have mated Fastrack to GarGraves and to tubular and to Atlas. I used Midwest Cork roadbed for the GarGraves and Atlas track and put the Fastrack and tubular on the plywood itself. The rail tops all matched. I never needed to cut the base of the Fastrack.
If you must cut it down I would think a good way would be to put it down flat on a belt sander and take it down little by little and stopping often to check the fit with the gargraves. This should keep the track bottom flat and level from end to end.
GEORGE S and RUSTYRAIL O SCALE thanks for the information. Not having to cut the base down will make it easier. The two 5 and 1/2 inch transition pieces were the only ones I would of had to cut. ................Paul
Technically, you don't need transition pieces. It depends what you are comfortable with. I have eliminated them by removing the Fastrack connector pins and cutting the Gargraves with my Dremel to the staggered Fastrack pattern. I then use GarGraves tubular pin adapters to connect to the Fastrack. You can solder the joints or add extra power drops to each section to ensure the best power conductivity.
There are great threads on the forum on how to remove Fastrack pins. Just try a search. Not sure how easy this is on the bridge.
