D&H - SP Alco Diesels

I think sold out is a good sign. Pre-orders seem to be the way this is going. It's important to show your support in this way. I ordered 3 of the Berks. 4 if you count the Polar Express.

It would be interesting to know how many of the SP passenger sets sell.  I would bet a lot of the people who bought the SP Alcos already had the older passenger cars to go with them. 

The new legacy Alco (Texas Special) runs soooo nice.  I would buy the AA set for two or three of my older Flyonel passenger sets just to upgrade to nicer runners if Lionel would do them up in the right colors.  I wish the D&RG Alcos from a few years about would have had Legacy.

I just checked and Charles Ro has the passenger cars under rolling stock but not the PA diesel sets.  Lionel still has them on their website for over $600.

 

OTZ where did you see those prices?

Probably just means there are none left to sell - all sold out.

What Alco PA's are you looking for?  I have a D & H set with the matching cars.  The boxes have never been opened.

I can't imagine how selling out of product could be viewed as a bad thing (for anybody).  If big L sees more sales, they'll be more likely to invest in the AF line.  More S gauge product out there is good for the hobby and the scale.

I have a Lionel D & H PA A-B-A  set, not AF. Sealed boxes.  Sorry for the confusion.

Well, according to the FAKT (Fountain of All Knowledge and Truth, a.k.a. the shipping schedule,) the Flyer D&H and SP PA's should be in customer's hot little hands.

Although, if someone on this forum has either of one them, I'm a bit surprised they aren't posting about them.  Unless I missed it...

Looks like misinformation. Hope the sets are on the water per Nassau Hobby.

If Nassau Hobby Center list is complete I do not see D/H passenger cars on list.
