I thought I would share some of the work I have done on my layout. It consists of N Scale, HO, O-Scale (3-Rail) and ON30. It is interesting that I use all these scales and just for starters, N Scale was my wife’s late husband, HO my son RIP, and O Scale got hooked on it when I wired the SD 3R in Sand Diego and when I was a young boy, started about 5 I am now much older.

These are pictures of my start to detail what I have done and some of the kit bashing too. I have a small room about 10 feet x 24 feet that house my trains and my ham radio station WA1OOH.

I started by putting down track and here is a list, HO, N Scale & ON30 are Bachmann  EZ track, O Scale is MTH ScaleTrax. Control system is DCC, DCS, DC, and TMCC Yes I got all of them.  I had a train shop at one time Emerald Station Studio’s and I was also a MTH service station.

The detail work has just started and it is coming along fast.  I have been confined to the house because of medical reasons so I need to find something to keep me occupied along with all the Honey Do’s.

All the lighting is LED for the most part and changing what I can to LED it makes a difference.  I have extended the control wiring to the front panels with switch control for switches and some track power. I run a Version L MTH TIU and it powers the whole layout and works very well. I also run DCC on HO N and yes 3-rail it is a blast and just needs to keep an eye on the light draw while running DCC on 3-rail and use led’s for car lighting usually run 2 or 3 passenger cars.  All the O scale curves are 80 degrees and main line switches are #6 so I can run my big engines on this small layout. I have also had good luck as running Lionel Pull Motors on DC by adding a bridge circuit, my experience as a field engineer has really helped out.

Enjoy Hope to hear from you.

Dan

That is only part of it and I have added a level of Fantasy to it taking a page out of Walt Disney Playbook. I just got it to the point today to start running it again and my granddaughters are coming over tomorrow.

Dan, have fun with the granddaughters and the layout!!!

Dan, I really like how you have all these different scales incorporated into your layout. I would very much like someday to create a forced perception layout. I'm not sure I could manage all the different operating systems in accordance with such an undertaking. You certainly are that inspiration! Keep us updated on your pike as it continues to evolve. Thanks for sharing!

Trainjunkie, I will do that. I got the MTH WIFI connected and now will install the Lionel WIFI, NCE DCC is working on N scale  and HO DCC and have DCS and DC on the ON30 part of the layout. I have the WIFI for the DCC and that should be up running soon as I get thru the medical issues. My two granddaughters and learning the way around the controls and the 5 year pushing 6 is really making headway the 3 year old is also coming along need to do what he sister is doing with the trains. It amazes me how they have advanced and with WIFI off the iPage cannot get them to stop wow.

I will have some updates later on in March should be good ones.
