I have a few engines that I'd like to upgrade to ERR TMCC, but I'm wondering if I need both the DC Commander and the Cruise Commander or just the Cruise Commander?  I always thought that Cruise Commander was just for cruise control but I thought I heard somewhere that it also acted for the TMCC control.  Can someone please clear this up?

Thanks!

With really good gearing such as that in the WBB Ten-Wheeler or many K-line designs

(sub-scale 4-6-2/2-8-2) I use the DC Commander. $60 or so. It also can be better

in a switcher with decent low gearing - the response is better.

With most 3-rail stuff I would recommend the Cruise Commander. I've done many of them.

But, Iif you have a flat layout with no extremely tight curves Cruise Control is often not needed.

The DC Commander and Cruise Commander have the same footprint and connections, so if you don't prefer the plain DC unit you can easily swap the boards later. Did that myself last year. Then put the DC Commander in something else!
