Does anyone manufacture this "Jumbo" boxcar in O scale?

NSC Jumbo Boxcar

The National Steel Car Company Jumbo Box car exceeds Plate F clearance and is the latest design that meets industry standards for the shipment of auto parts or other general commodities. With a gross rail load of 286,000 pounds, this car features a welded all-steel, external post construction.  Boasting an interior length of 86½ feet, a width of 8 feet, 7 inches and a ceiling height of 15 feet, 4 inches, it has an interior storage capacity that tops out at a stunning 11,384 cubic feet. In addition, there are four rows of rub rails and a nailable steel floor capable of supporting a 50,000-pound forklift (front axle) load. Also provided are seven rack  spacers. An important feature is the "zero-protrusion" smooth interior walls that help reduce damage to the load.

Atlas has two excess height cars -- the Master Line Berwick 60-footer and the Trainman Pullman-Standard 40-footer. Both are nice, but this particular prototype isn't done in O scale to the best of my knowledge.

Lionel produces an 86-footer, but I believe that's a Pullman-Standard double plug-door prototype. They're coming out with the double-double plug-door (8 doors) cars in the next run.

Hope that helps!!!

Their Berwick 60' Hy-Cube boxcars look pretty close- check those out.

Most of the National Steel Car Box Cars from the past 15 years are so new and in so few road names compared to the classics from the 1940's to the 1970's that some of the old guys running the Model Railroad companies might be too conservative to make them.

It would make sense to offer them for use with modern locomotives like the SD70ACe and ES44AC.

There are two door options available.

Lionel put the Thrall Car or Pullman-Standard style 86' High-Cube Boxcars built in the 1960's and 1970's in the 2014 catalog.

Since Lionel has those original 86' Boxcars being produced, it would have to be somebody like Atlas O to make them in O Scale.

Is there another company in the United States or Canada who would be able to make injection molded bodies with die cast frames and trucks domestically, not in China?
