Hello all,

im in the process of designing a layout for my basement after renovation. Unfortunately I only have a 10.5 by 6 foot (with a bit of leeway) area to work with, but let's be honest... Any layout is better than none. What I would like to incorporate would be an 0-54 minimum layout with a double mainline and a yard. I'm running a combination of mth imperial and premier steamers and need the O-54 for the premier guys. I can expand out to at max 8 feet depth along the left side of the layout for about 5 feet of the 10.5 width. Does anyone have a track plan that incorporates these ideas? Anything I have created thus far either looks dumb or doesn't have the yard capacity for any passenger trains. I've been able to house a double main line with a long passing siding so far in my parameters.

What are everyone's thoughts on the best layout possible in this space? I'm really open to anything as im still in the early stages of planning the layout. I have about 2-6 months before any plans become reality.

FYI I do plan to use MTH realtrax for the layout as I already have a significant investment in it. I'll post some of my ideas in the next day or two.

Thanks,

Marc
