My MTH Rail King C&O Hudson made a dive to the floor, and luckily only the eccentric crank on the engineers side is broken. See the red arrow in the photo. So I need a replacement eccentric crank for this engine.

Keep us informed. I have always dreaded the possibility of a valve gear part failing in service or falling off. I'd be interested to know if those small parts are stocked or if you have to hire a machinist.
Part shows available from North Lima Train works:

I think you can use any part of any MTH Railking Hudson. The chasis design is the same throughout. MTH may have some in stock for more recent production locos. The Yellowbelly is just coming out with PS3 now so they may have the parts. I had issues with the rods on my Yellowbelly but MTH replaced them. That engine has probably run enough miles to go to the moon and back and just keeps going.
MTH should have the parts you need in stock since the engine in question is still active inventory. If not keep a lookout both here and on eBay for a Rail King Hudson being sold for parts. As SJC said the chassis they use are pretty much the same. One other thought would be to remove the other eccentric crank and rods since the prototype has poppet valve gear which eliminates the parts in question.

Tried doing just that years ago. Wouldn't work, at least not easily. I'll overlook the pair of extra rods....
Increasing my options to get the Yellow Belly on the rails again, I used Quick JB Weld to put the eccentric crank back together. The repair still needs some work, but I think it may work because there is very little load on this crank.
I have no feedback from MTH yet. More to follow.
I have a very large number of steam locomotives and they get run often. I have never had any valve gear fall apart. I have seen people break these parts by running the engine upside down on the bench. The one engine you do not want to run upside down is the MTH P-47.
I would replace the part instead of doing a repair.
Martin, the link you showed was for a Lionel locomotive. Bobby, that part can be had from MTH with no problem. Hit my email in a week if you have no luck. I should have something if I dig.
Eccentric crank?
Gee, I thought someone was paging me!
