I am working on a pair of Williams engines, they use the 6 amp reverse board. It is not working, I was wondering has anyone attempted to repair them or is it better to order new ones?

It depends on what is wrong with them. Obviously, since they use common components, they are probably repairable, the question is if it's worth it.
What are the exact symptoms?
Have you checked the motors themselves? Unplug the motors from the circuit board(if it has a plug-in) and use a 12 volt power source or 12 volt car battery to see if the motors work as they are D.C. can motors.
The new circuit boards from Williams by Bachmann are some what expensive, around $50.00 or more from Bachmann.
You could wire the motors straight from a bridge rectifier; 50 volts at 6 amps will work. The only draw back is that you lose direction control, or you can add in a double pole double throw switch and get manual direction control by reversing the wires to the motors from the bridge rectifier.

They are simple boards as far as electronics go......and I am sure someone that's an expert and had all the test equipment could fix one......but if the motors are OK and board fried......I just replace with a WbB unit or a Dallee which can be cheaper. Both work well and easy to install.
Many times used Wbb boards are available for $10-20.
