Recently finished up something big for my sci-fi wargame train setup.  This is the second of these Fisher Price Geo-Trax stations that I've found at the resale shop and painted up.  The previous example was missing alot of pieces however and this one is complete, having the lower platforms and the neat arched frame on top.

Went a bit sci-fi/cyberpunk on this one also by adding some "battlezone" panels from a game company called Mantic.

Lots more pictures (pre and post paint) and construction notes here:

It's not perfectly scaled in every respect (note the huge steps that work better for toys and wargames miniatures) for O scale but it's awfully close and I think that with just a bit of modification and a less worn paintjob it might find a place on some more traditional train layouts. It made it's debut at the Adepticon wargame convention last weekend and garnered alot of attention.

Alan,

Thanks! Over the years I've developed a pretty simple paint technique that's just a black spray base, wet/drybrush of colors, heavy messy reddish-brown wash or two and a tan drybrush to dusty it up.  I use it for almost everything now and while it has some shortcomings when seen upclose, viewed from a couple feet away it's farily convincing and as long as there is plenty of texture to the model it all pops pretty well.   Did I mention it's fast?

Coach,

Appreciated! Saw that thread, there's some pretty inspirational stuff in there.   The arched frame and brickwork is a bit reminicent isn't it?
