Anyone power their Legacy base with something other than the included wall wart? Space is tight and I was just wondering if there is a better way? I do not charge batteries with my base.

BTW, it has a 5 amp slow blow internal fuse on the primary side. So whatever you use should be protected. I don't know if there is a fuse in the base.
The proprietary wall wart included to power the base is an integral part of the radio wave propagation scheme. The system won't work without it.
BTW, it (the wall wart) also provides the UL-approved connection to the green ground wire of your premises (house, usually) 120v AC power wiring. This may not be apparent from the fact that although the wart has 3 prongs, it only has two wires going to the Legacy Command Base. But one of those wires also carries the connection to the green ground. Without this connection the circuitry in the Base will not be able to make the control signals carried on the outer rail effective.
In passing, I would not bundle the small leads from the wall wart to the Base with any of the low voltage wires from the layout transformer(s). It should be run separately, supported on insulated brackets to prevent rubbing against layout wires. This is because the green ground wire is not entirely free of higher voltage during shorting events in household appliances. The protection against such events is located in the Base (a fuse in the wall wart would not provide such protection).

1 foot is the shortest I've found. butnif you need to go longer you can. It'll allow you to hide the wall wort in an out of the way place and the actual AC connection will take minimum space
