I am setting up my portable Std Gauge layout and have the TIU installed. It is an older TIU that was given the latest upgrades a few months ago. Loaded the TIU to the remote, no problem. Put an engine on track 1 and loaded the engine to the remote, push start up, all is good. Moved to track 2 and as soon as I power up the track, the lights and sound come on. It is going straight to conventional. I used the horn/whistle buttons and they work with the appropriate buttons. When I try to select the engine, I get the engine not found screen. Move back to track 1 and it is Ok. Track 2 only wants to play in conventional mode. Looking for suggestions.

thanks

Steve,

First, turn on the DCS signal on all channels:

Menu/System/DCS Setup and press the "AON" soft key

Next, ensure that the TIU itself is getting power. If you're using any channel other than Fixed #1, then the TIU must get power either from the Aux. Power port or Fixed #1 IN. Otherwise, engines on Fixed channel #2 will come on exactly as you describe when power to Fixed #2 IN is turned on.

Last, make sure that the TIU's Hot (red) terminal is connected to the center rail and the Common (black) Terminal is connected to an outside rail.

This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
