Re: ERR Sound Commander 2 cuts in and out

I am working on an installation on an S gauge Flyonel GP using ERR Cruise Lite with an ERR Sound Commander 2. I have a situation where the Sound Commander will cut out, the diesel sound will stop, if I press the horn button or the bell button on the remote usually the sound starts up again. It will run for a time with the sound but will go silent again. I have also had it happen when the engine sound is working to press the horn or bell button and the sound will stop, press the button again and the engine sound restart. Any ideas of what is going on? Thank you for any suggestions

Just a slight correction to my prior posting, it seems as any command from the remote will restart the Sound Commander 2

Checked and tightened all the plugs and components, solder joints all good, the problem remains.

The power issue has to do with the pickup rollers to the track. A brief loss of power like going over a switch can cause this. Even with a new Legacy engine I sometimes have to install a battery backup to avoid loosing the sound.

Does that have the adjustable volume pot? Cycle it and test again. I would also look very closely. I have found small components not fully soldered. Maybe a smd resistor or cap is not installed correctly. G
