MTH Rail King P47 4-6-2 Pacific PS2...Smoke is erratic. Smokes at idle and upon engaging forward/reverse motion, smoke cuts out until the engine reaches about 20 mph. Even then, there is no consistency. Before I go under the hood, has anyone else ever encountered this problem and what was the fix? Is it a mechanical, electrical or a software issue?

Sounds like you got smoke fluid on the motor shaft holding the fan blade and it's not spinning the blade consistently. I have the same issue with my challenger. Take it apart remove the fan blade, clean all fluid and super glue the fan blade back on the shaft.
