Finally got around to building the bench work for my layout since I have been busy with college. The wood was free since I found it in the basement. Forgot we had it or I would have had to buy from Home Depot. The bench work is 38 inches wide by 4 feet long. I still have to put it together with screws. This is just a photo of it mocked up. Once put together I'll be putting a plywood base down.

A good break from the brain strain. Looks like you are on your way. if you are using 3/4" ply, you probably don't need the center supports. 1/2" ply, use them.

See if you can a find speed bore, a hole saw or an auger to put some holes in the crossmembers for wires if you use them. It will keep it neat. 1/2" or 5/8".

I put the center supports in just for the mockup might keep them not too sure. Thanks for the tip on drilling holes for the wires
